The OutPEP Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing the Outside Peer Education Program (OutPEP), an extension of the Indiana Peer Education Program (INPEP). INPEP trains individuals to be peer health educators while experiencing incarceration in Indiana Department of Correction. Once released, INPEP Peer Educators may begin working with Step-Up, Inc. as contract employees of the OutPEP Program. These individuals provide public health education in the community. This education may occur at health fairs, community centers, jails, religious centers, or other identified locations. The OutPEP Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing the dissemination of public health education through the coordination of the OutPEP peer educators in Indiana.
